ABOUT JOHN
My name is John Brick and I’m running for the 272nd District Judge seat. I will be fair, just & compassionate on the bench.
That is the demeanor we all want in a judge, and I will strive to display those qualities in every case I have the privilege of presiding over. From civil, to criminal, to family law cases, I will endeavor to apply those principles to my decision-making to assure each side that they had a fair trial.
Additionally, I have the experience and temperament to sit on the bench and make life-changing decisions.
I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Jamee Boutell Brick, and we have three wonderful kids. They attend College Station Schools and Jamee teaches in CSISD.
We are in the process of becoming certified foster parents. We see the need of the vulnerable in our society and desire to offer safety and compassion.
I graduated from AMCHS in ’95 and Jamee graduated from BHS in ’95. We each went away for college, and married after graduation. We moved back to the B/CS area 15 years ago. We wanted to raise our children near family and this area that we love.
We have been active members of Central Baptist Church since 2005. I’ve volunteered with AWANAs, Sports Camp and the Special Needs Ministry.
I’m from this area and care about it. I’ve spent my career thus far working for the people of Brazos County, to ensure justice and fairness. I want to continue what Judge Travis Bryan is known for…making sure both sides know they’ve had a fair trial.
EXPERIENCE:
I’ve prosecuted felony cases in Brazos County for the past 14 years including Capital Murder, Child Abuse, Drug Possession, and Theft.
- I started off prosecuting misdemeanors in Huntsville at the Walker County DA’s office under David P. Weeks in 2004
- In 2005, Brazos County DA, Bill Turner, offered me a chance to prosecute felonies back home in Brazos County and I jumped at the opportunity
- I’m currently the Chief Prosecutor assigned to the 85th District Court and have been in that position for the past 5 years. In addition to trying cases, I supervise three other prosecutors assigned to that court as well as an investigator and administrative assistant
I also worked for a small civil law office in Houston during law school and they hired me to work for them after graduation from 2002 – 2004.
- I handled filing petitions, answering petitions, completing discovery and negotiating settlements on behalf of our clients
